AUTOMATIC EMBROIDERY MACHINES (Bernina) 

Are you getting the best results from your embroidery machine? This class will guide you through the minefield on setting up your embroidery machine and stabilising diffferent fabrics. We will advise on which threads to use and how to manage your tensions.  We will explain the different ways to load your desings and help with enlarging, reducting and combining designs on the machine. This class will make you confidenct to tackle your embroidery projects successfully.

 

FREEHAND EMBROIDERY TASTER MORNING 9.30-12.30pm

Work in a hoop and experiment with straight stitch and zig zag ideal for sewing monograms.


TWIN NEEDLE TASTER AFTERNOON 2-5pm Come and try three different sizes of twin needles and see how quickly and professionally you can shorten a T-shirt, sweatshirt of fleece. Hem bed linen or table linen, shear fabrics or drapes, or simple making a decorative hem effect.

FANTASY EMBROIDERY VILLAGE WORKSHOP DAY  A new course with some new techniques. Using fantasy embroidery methods we will make an embroidered panel to use as you wish.  Perhaps a cushion front, a bag side panel or a hanging picture... whatever you turn it into you will be impressed with your achievements making your own unique Island Village view using fantasy embroidery methods. Absolutely stunning.

 

FANTASY EMBROIDERY BEADED BAG DAY WORKSHOP
Open to all levels and any basic sewing machine. Work with a variety of materials, threads and experiment with all types of machine decorative work using presser feet and free machine sewing, with & without a hoop. Learn lots of techniques to create unique, quick textile work.

SIMPLE SASHIKO - Sashiko is the stitching of repetitive tradional Japanese patterns. Easily recognisable with white line embroidery on indigo fabric and traditionally stitched by hand; the simple running stitch easily translates to machine.
